My name is Nadia Arthurs and I am a registered midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). I have experience caring for women antenatally, in labour and throughout the postnatal period.

I originally trained as a nurse in Beaumont Hospital and Dublin City University, obtaining my BSc. in Nursing from the Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI). I trained as a midwife in the Rotunda Hospital and achieved a Masters of Science (MSc) in Midwifery from Trinity College Dublin in 2011. I am also a Registered Midwife Prescriber (RMP) getting top of my class in Trinity in 2019-2020. I also completed my Early Pregnancy Ultrasound Scanning Course from University College Dublin (UCD) in June 2022. Basically I love being informed and learning!

I am currently employed by a large maternity hospital in Dublin and trained as a Hypnobirthing practitioner with Judith Flood. I am a member of the Association of Hypnobirthing Midwives (AHBM).

Most importantly, I am mother to three children Alannah, Ethan and Elise. While each pregnancy, labour and birth was different the birth of all three babies was an amazing, empowering experience (not easy, but amazing!) and I credit this to huge preparation of the body and the mind with hypnobirthing. Having three amazing midwives Edel, Anita and Terri familiar with hypnobirthing to facilitate each birth was fantastic.

Drawing from my professional experience caring for women in labour as well as my personal experience of birthing three babies I was inspired to set up www.labouroflove.ie. The purpose of doing so? So that I could share my hypnobirthing knowledge with expectant mums and dads- and hopefully lead them to an amazing birth experience too!!!
